How to download JioMart 

JioMart was launched in January. This service is currently limited to the Web, you can register at Reliance Retail's website right now and its app will be launched soon on the Google Play Store and Apple's App Store.

How to Place Order 

- To place an order through JioMart , you have to add JioMart's Whatsapp number 88500 08000 to your Contacts. 

- After adding the number, you have to send a message to the JioMart number. Type anything like "Hi" and send it to the number.

- JioMart will then reply with the shopping link with a message that reads, "Welcome to JioMart WhatsApp Ordering Service" . The shopping link will only be valid for 30 minutes. To generate a new link, you must send a new message.

- When you open the link, a new page will open in front of you where you will be asked for some of your details, such as Phone No. , Area, locality etc.

- After submitting the details, a new page will open in front of you, where you will see the full list of Grocery Items. Whatever you want to buy, add to cart from here. 

- When you generate an order, JioMart will send an invoice with the address and location of the grocery store on Google Maps.  

-After which, you will receive an SMS from the store when the order is ready. You can receive your order from the store and pay there.

Opposition of JioMart 

There are many more e-commerce platforms available in the country such as BigBasket, Groofers, Amazon. In view of the increase in demand for groceries or daily use items due to lockdown, many companies like Zomato, Swiggy, Uber have started delivering groceries to the home. The launch  of JioMart in collaboration with Whatsapp could threaten the popularity of both these platforms. Jio and WhatsApp together have over 750 million users - many of which will be common. For now, we have to wait to see what Facebook and Jio are doing with the JioMart e-commerce platform.
